Former President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump said he’s seen the reception of his father’s campaign go from excitement to love.

With a little more than a week left until the election, the former president will be speaking at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. The stadium in New York City is decorated with red, white, and blue lights ahead of the rally. Trump’s supporters began lining up overnight to get in.

“Listen, there was excitement, an incredible excitement, in 2016 when my father came in, but now you feel love, right? You feel true love,” Eric Trump said on Fox and Friends Sunday. I’ll have people I’ve never met before who come up to me and literally give me a hug. It’s like I’ve known them their entire lives, and I feel like, in a certain way, we do. There is so much love in the air. There is so much enthusiasm. They know this country has unlimited potential. They believe in this country. These people haven’t given up on this country.”

Trump said Madison Square Garden is “a special venue” because of his family memories there, watching various sporting events and concerts over the years. He said his whole family “loves that building.”

Sunday’s rally will include a long list of speakers, including running mate J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, Dana White, and Tucker Carlson. Some prospective members of the next presidential Cabinet, should Donald Trump win, will also speak, including former candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

New York did not elect Trump in either the 2020 or the 2016 election. The last time New York elected a Republican for president was Ronald Reagan. Reagan also made a campaign stop in the deep blue Bronx neighborhood of New York City ahead of his first win. At the time, he addressed the National Urban League Conference.

This is Trump’s third major stop in New York City while on the campaign in recent weeks, with two stops in the Bronx.
