Newly released footage of the Jan. 6 riot shows United States Capitol Police escorting the man known as the “QAnon Shaman” around the Capitol.

The footage was released by Fox News host Tucker Carlson as part of the 40,000 hours of footage given to him by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The surveillance footage shows two officers escorting Jacob Chansley, 33, to the Senate floor, where he would pose for several famous images. The footage raises questions as to the possible complicity of some officers in the riot.

JUDGE DENIES JAN. 6 DEFENDANT ACCESS TO CAPITOL SECURITY TAPES MADE AVAILABLE BY MCCARTHY

“Virtually every moment of his time inside the Capitol was caught on tape,” Carlson said on Monday. “The tapes show the Capitol Police never stopped Jacob Chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides.”

Chansley, accompanied by the officers, can be seen passing by numerous other officers who pay him little attention. A statement from Capitol Police claimed that the officers were attempting to “de-escalate” the situation due to being outnumbered, but the footage shows the group encountering larger groups of officers who do nothing.

“The one very serious regret that I have [is] believing that when we were waved in by police officers that it was acceptable,” Chansley said in a prison interview, shown by Carlson.

“By controlling the images you were allowed to view from January 6, they controlled how the public understood that day. They could lie about what happened and you would never know the difference. Those lies had a purpose. They created a pretext for a federal crackdown on opponents of the uniparty in Washington,” Carlson said on Monday.

Chansley was sentenced to four years in prison for “obstructing an official proceeding.”
