Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) accused FBI Director Christopher Wray of being responsible for exasperating issues with the federal agency.

“Well this all happened under his watch,” said on Fox News Wednesday. “He’s the guy who created the foreign influence task force. The foreign influence task force was cited in the federal court’s opinion involved in censoring American speech. This is the guy who presided over when they raided President Trump’s home 90 days before a mid-term election.”

Jordan emphasized that the fact that Wray was appointed by then-President Donald Trump does not matter when it comes to Congress wanting answers from Wray.

Wray is set to appear before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday morning, following the release of a report accusing the agency of using their resources for political purposes. The committee claimed the FBI “violated the First Amendment rights of Americans and potentially undermined our national security,” by aiding censorship requests for social media companies “on behalf of a Ukrainian intelligence agency.”

“The problems are at the headquarters, the problems are at the Washington field office,” Jordan said. “That is always been the concern, it’s here in D.C. where the problems are and that is where our questions will be focused.”

The House Judiciary Committee Chairman pushed to move the FBI headquarters to Huntsville, Alabama, urging an amendment to an appropriations bill that would strip funding from the FBI as outlined in a letter Tuesday.

“The speaker has been very clear that Republicans will not support money for new headquarters here in the D.C. area,” Jordan said, questioning why taxpayer money should be paying for new headquarters.
