Karl Rove says President Joe Biden is going to have to fight against concerns surrounding his age in addition to battling against the Republican presidential nominee in 2024.

The former adviser to President George W. Bush cited Biden’s fall at the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation on Thursday as cause for concern. His comments came while speaking on Fox News’s America Reports.

ONE QUESTION FOR TRUMP COULD DETERMINE THE RACE FOR THE 2024 GOP NOMINATION

“He’s running against a Republican opponent and the mortality table as well. I talked about this in a column a couple weeks ago. He is already older than all but five presidents were at the time of their death, and those presidents by and large had had an average retirement of 20-some-odd plus years by the time they passed from this Earth,” Rove said.

“So, I mean, he’s 80 today, 81 by the end of the year, 82 shortly after the 2024 election and before the 2025 inauguration, and the idea somehow or another the country will be well served by a guy who is going to be 86 if he’s able to serve all four years — you covered the White House, I worked there seven years, we both know how demanding it is — and if he’s not up to the job today, why do we think he’s going to get better?” he continued.

Biden was “fine” after the fall, per the White House. Officials cited a sandbag as the reason for the president’s fall.

The president announced in April that he will be seeking a second term in the White House in 2024. He is the oldest U.S. president in history.

On the Democratic side, Biden is widely expected to be the nominee in 2024. On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump leads the field, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is in a distant second place.
