Actor Kevin Sorbo is responding to accusations that his new children’s book is “anti-trans,” calling them ignorant attempts to “score clicks.”

Earlier this month, Sorbo released his new children’s book, The Test of Lionhood, which details the journey of a lion cub named Lucas, who braves a daring journey to find the cure for a deadly infection facing his sister. Sorbo created the book to help combat “the killing of chivalry and manhood.”

When the self-described “Soros-paid deep state operative” social media user “Joe My God” accused Sorbo of issuing an “anti-LGBTQ children’s book,” Sorbo took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to reject such a claim.

“Yet another example of the Left doing whatever it takes to score clicks while bashing Christian conservatives,” Sorbo wrote. “This guy has no clue what he’s talking about.”

The accusatory post has since been deleted.

Sorbo, who is perhaps best known for his lead role in Hercules, noted that his book was designed to encourage boys to be courageous and brave in the face of challenges.

“My book, The Test of Lionhood, is about a humble lion cub discovering what it means to step into manhood, or rather lionhood,” Sorbo told the Washington Examiner. “It’s about embracing masculinity, and as men, that is objectively true.”

“The Left wants to take everything they can and make it about themselves. They think just because I uphold Christian and conservative principles, I’m anti-trans,” he continued. “I must be, especially since Hollywood canceled me. My book isn’t anti-anything; it’s pro-masculinity, pro-bravery, and pro-child!”

Sorbo previously told the Washington Examiner that he has grown tired of watching a “woke” society emasculate the modern-day man, both on the big screen and in everyday life.

“Our movies and TV are filled with sex and violence and evil, and the celebration of evil, the celebration of the antihero. It’s weird to me,” Sorbo said. “So, we’re raising up a whole generation [of men] just looking for a reason to complain and looking for a reason to point a finger for their own failures.”

“We need men to start being men and realize that God never promised us an easy life. We have to find a way to get past all the hardships in life because we’re always going to have hardships,” he added. “You got to suck it up and take responsibility for yourself.”

The Test of Lionhood joins Kirk Cameron’s children’s books as part of Brave Books’ Freedom Island Book Club. The books are available through the publisher’s book of the month program.
