Law enforcement and media swarmed a residence associated with the suspected Maine shooter, 40-year-old Robert Card, Thursday evening in Bowdoin, Maine. Instructions could be heard over a loudspeaker as a helicopter circled overhead.
CNN provided coverage of the events as law enforcement tried to lure what they thought was a person out of the home. The situation was tense for about two hours until vehicles and personnel started to disperse.

The heavy presence at the property came after a mass shooter in Lewiston, Maine, went on a rampage at multiple locations and killed at least 16 people. Over a dozen people were also hurt in the attacks.
Law enforcement officials returned to the home Thursday evening after conducting earlier search warrants. A Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson told CNN that law enforcement was not sure Card was in the house but that they were doing their due diligence after investigators detected something near the house.
At least five law enforcement vehicles were on the scene, and an armored vehicle was among them. The large presence came after FBI SWAT teams cleared the house for investigators to conduct research earlier in the day. State and local investigators did a similar search at a different location.
It is unclear who or what was in the home Thursday evening.

Search efforts persist as Lewiston Public Schools said it would remain closed into Friday. There was also a shelter-in-place order in place for the city.
The news came as information began to come out about the victims of the shootings.
