Margaret Thatcher statue pelted with eggs hours after installation
A statue of former United Kingdom Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was pelted with eggs two hours after it was placed in its new home on Sunday morning.
The statue of Thatcher was met with verbal and physical attacks such as egg throwing and booing after it was placed onto a 10-foot granite platform in Thatcher’s hometown of Grantham, Lincolnshire, according to the Irish Examiner. In response, police put up a temporary barrier around the statue.
