Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) boasted Saturday on social media that she found a second location for her book signing after a Westgate resort in Kissimmee, Florida, canceled it Friday night.

The resort claimed it was not aware of the Jan. 6 tie to the event when it approved the signing event for her book MTG. It was scheduled for Saturday, the three-year anniversary of the riot, and included a meet-and-greet with the congresswoman.

“Democrats claim they’re saving Democracy, but we all know they’re actually DESTROYING Democracy” Greene posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. “They hate free speech. Plain and simple. That’s why they tried to cancel my book signing. But they failed! The show will go on!!”

The new venue is at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in St. Cloud, Florida, near Orlando. Osceola County GOP Committee Chairman Mark Cross, who was in charge of the event, told the Hill that he believed Democrats in Orlando likely “started calling people and lying about the purpose of the event.”

Democratic state Rep. Anna Eskamani had already criticized Greene and the GOP for hosting an event around Jan. 6 earlier in the week.

“Just another day in Florida where the local Republican Party in Osceola County is hosting an ‘anniversary’ event to mark January 6th and Marjorie Taylor Greene is the ‘special’ guest,” Eskamani posted on X. “Was really hoping this was a joke when I first saw it.”

Prominent Republicans including Donald Trump Jr. and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) slammed the cancellation on social media Saturday.

“We won’t be intimidated by the cancel culture,” Trump posted to X. “MTG will be in Orlando today. Get a copy of the book the left doesn’t want you to read!”

Gaetz said Greene is a powerful voice in politics who should be allowed to speak if the public wants to hear her.

“This cancel BS is absurd,” Gaetz posted to X. “[MTG] is a powerful voice in American Politics and Floridians deserve the right to hear what she has to say if they choose. I stand with MTG and I’m proud to see the #WinningTeam fighting back!”
