Nikki Haley responded to The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s comments about the Republican 2024 presidential contender’s age, saying they are “ridiculous.”

During a segment of ABC’s The View on Monday, Goldberg said Haley should not characterize herself as part of a “new generation” due to the fact that Haley is 51 years old.

Haley responded on Monday, telling Fox News’s Hannity that any attack on age would not happen if she were a Democrat.

“This is going to continue to happen. It infuriates them because they know we win independents. They know we win suburban women, and they know we win minorities. Our solutions lift up everyone, not just a select few,” Haley responded on Monday, telling Hannity. “More importantly, look at how hypocritical this is. If a Republican said this about Kamala Harris or said this about any Democrat, they would be asking for people to be fired. You’re not hearing that.”

“We struck a nerve, but I’ll wear it as a badge of honor,” Haley added. “It’s all they had. They were just looking for something. I’m 30 years younger than Joe Biden.”

President Joe Biden turned 80 years old in November.

During The View’s segment on Monday, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested that being 51 years old is considered a “new generation” for Washington.

“She may be younger than most of those people, but her rhetoric is the same,” Goldberg replied.

Goldberg’s comments follow CNN host Don Lemon’s controversial remarks last Thursday that suggested Haley was past her prime.
