Martha Stewart, known for her domestic goddess expertise in managing a home and hospitality, made a surprising announcement about her Thanksgiving plans.

“I gave up Thanksgiving,” she said to television host Kelly Clarkson late last week. “Nine guests canceled because somebody got sick, so I called up my chef friend and said, ‘We’re not doing Thanksgiving.'”

She continued, “And I’ve also cooked up 14 turkeys already for my TV show.”

“You’ve kind of done it,” Clarkson said to Stewart.

“I am turkeyed out,” Stewart admitted.

“Those friends must be so stressed out,” Clarkson responded.

Stewart laughed, “I hope so.”

The cooking show mogul revealed that she’s going to do her version of a pub crawl by visiting ‘five different homes’ for Thanksgiving dinner.

“I’m going to about five different homes to taste different courses,” Stewart told Clarkson.

Upon hearing the news, The Cut‘s Olivia Craighead quipped about the pressure put on the homes Stewart will be visiting Thanksgiving night.

“Send your thoughts and prayers to the tony women of Bedford, New York,” she suggested. “Their entire social standing rests on their green bean casserole.”

Stewart was not the only celebrity to break some surprising against-brand news.

Snoop Dogg recently made headlines over giving up “smoke,” causing some to question, “Snoop Dogg is quitting weed, Martha Stewart canceled Thanksgiving. Has the sky fallen?”

Rumors spread that rapper and frequent Stewart co-host Snoop Dogg was giving up “smoke,” but on Monday, he clarified that he was promoting the product of a Solo Stove brand’s “smokeless” fire pit.

The rapper and homemaking maven also announced last week that they are launching a new business venture to promote a fashion accessory called Best Buds Bags. Their new limited-edition crossbody bags collection includes a cylindrical champagne clutch-style purse and a color-blocked purple one.
