Tesla is laying off nearly 200 employees on the company’s autopilot team, according to a report.

TESLA TO INTRODUCE HUMANOID ROBOT

The now-laid-off employees worked on autopilot features for Tesla’s cars and looked at vehicle data on the feature, said the Tuesday report from Bloomberg, which cited sources familiar with the situation.

The report also notes that some of the employees who worked at the office in San Mateo, California, would be transferred to a different office.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Tesla for comment.

Tesla is reportedly looking into cutting its workforce and putting a freeze on hiring. CEO Elon Musk wanted to cut the company’s workforce by 10% and freeze all hiring due to bad economic prospects, Reuters reported earlier this month.
