The Israeli government confirmed that all 13 Israeli hostages released by Hamas are now in Israel.

“The first hostages — women and children — are back in Israel,” Eylon Levy, a spokesman for the Israeli government, said in a social media post. “Hamas is still holding around 215 other hostages in the dark, and is keeping their families in the dark. None of us are free till ALL of them are free.”

Israel also released 39 Palestinian women and children who were detained as part of its deal with Hamas, according to the Qatari spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As part of the deal agreed to by Hamas and Israel, all fighting will stop for four days, Hamas will release 50 Israeli hostages, and Israel will release three detainees for every Israeli hostage who is released.

Another part of the deal is that humanitarian aid is set to come into Gaza, which began Friday morning.

Hamas is estimated to have taken nearly 240 hostages from its Oct. 7 attack on Israel. This is the first hold on fighting since the invasion.
