EXCLUSIVE — Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is seeking to make inroads in Iowa with twin TV advertisements in the Hawkeye State.

The ads, which will air in the first-in-the-nation caucus state from Wednesday before this month’s second 2024 Republican presidential primary debate, are part of an $8 million buy in Iowa and New Hampshire.

MCCARTHY ANNOUNCES IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY INTO PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN

In the first 30-second spot, titled “Underdog,” Scott underscores his working-class background, contending, “hard work is the price of American citizenship.”

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris believe in socialism and victimhood,” he says. “As president, I’ll eliminate their liberal spending and strengthen work requirements for welfare because if you’re able-bodied in America, you work.”

In the second, called “Parental Consent,” Scott amplifies policies in his “Empower Parents” proposal, announced last month, and promises to “put moms and dads back in charge” of their child’s education.

“The radical Left acts like your kids are their kids,” he says. “In schools today, rogue adults are changing kids’s genders behind parents’s backs. Planned Parenthood is performing abortions on teenage girls in secret, and Big Tech is addicting children to social media.”

Scott, who is averaging 2% support nationally and 9% support in Iowa, was less impactful than expected during the opening debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, last month, failing to capitalize on the momentum he has created on the campaign trail.

Scott will be in Iowa this week, including for a town hall in Dubuque and an address at the 23rd Annual Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition Fall Banquet in Des Moines, in addition to events next week in Ames, Fort Dodge, and Mason City.
