Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) rejected The View’s concerns about who he might marry, saying the show’s hosts cannot handle “a black man who thinks for himself.”
On Tuesday, The View’s co-host Sunny Hostin said she was concerned that Scott, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, could get married to “a Ginni Thomas-type person,” while discussing other worries that some hold about him running as an unmarried candidate.

“The Democratic Party and the progressive Left are stuck in Jim Crow 1920s and ’30s,” Scott told Hannity. “What they do not want is a black man who thinks for himself. You can be anything in America if you’re black, except for a conservative. That’s why Sunny is so radical and disgusting with her comments.”
“They do not want my life story to be told because it disrupts the lives of the radical Left,” he continued. “I can’t think of anything more disgusting and more disheartening than to watch the Democratic Party descend down into the 1920s. Unbelievable but consistent.”

Hostin’s comments of unease about Scott’s relationship status as discussed on The View, come as some Democrats have expressed concern that Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has been an influence on his decisions in court as Ginni Thomas is a conservative activist.
“I can’t for the life of me understand why the radical Left wants a different country this is the greatest nation on earth. We are the city on the hill,” Scott said. “The radical Left and the progressives want to sell socialism because they do not believe in the American people. It’s time for us to take a stand, whether it’s on The View, or the radical Left Party, it is time to take our message from sea to shining sea.”
