A 21-year-old tourist was raped by a stranger in the New York City subway, police say.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sept. 1, officials said. The woman was approached by a man who offered to help show her around, police said, according to the New York Post. He rode with her through several stops before stopping at a final isolated spot, where she was raped at the edge of the subway platform, officials added. First responders took her to Bellevue Hospital to be treated for her injuries afterward.

Police released a sketch of the man, who was last seen wearing burgundy and gold shorts, along with black-and-white Crocs, according to the outlet.
