Former President Donald Trump took part in flipping burgers on the grill and visited a fraternity house prior to the Iowa-Iowa State college football game on Saturday.


Former President Donald Trump took part in flipping burgers on the grill and visited a fraternity house prior to the Iowa-Iowa State college football game on Saturday.

Trump was seen partaking in tailgating activities prior to the game in Ames, Iowa, including flipping burgers before a crowd of students and media.

The former president gleefully presented one of the burger patties on a spatula before putting it back on the grill to cook further.

Trump also visited the Alpha Gamma Rho, an agricultural fraternity at Iowa State University, and later tossed footballs to people in the crowd, even signing one of the footballs.


“This is some turnout; I guess the youth likes Trump, but we love Iowa. We just left South Dakota last night; it was an amazing evening,” Trump said after leaving the fraternity house. “We got a wonderful endorsement from [Kristi Noem], and we’re here, and the reception has been incredible, really incredible.”

Other Republican presidential candidates, including Govs. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Doug Bergum (R-ND) are at the tailgate for the football game in Ames, Iowa.

Trump’s trip to the Iowa-Iowa State game comes while reports suggest his campaign is concerned about lagging behind his competitors like DeSantis in the Hawkeye State.

Trump is the current front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. He is far ahead of other GOP candidates, including DeSantis, by nearly 40%.
