Zaslav was slated to give the commencement speech at Boston University in the midst of the Writers Guild of America strike. Some 11,500 writers, including some employed by Warner Bros. Discovery, have been on strike since May 2 after failing to negotiate higher wages. As soon as Zaslav was introduced at the BU graduation ceremony, students in the crowd reacted with boos.

“Pay your writers, pay your writers,” broke out as Zaslav was speaking.
