Darline Graham Nordone, the sister of the late Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, is set to be sworn into the Senate as her older brother’s replacement on Tuesday afternoon.
On Monday, Gov. Henry McMaster (R-SC) appointed Nordone to serve the remainder of Graham’s fourth term. Graham was up for reelection this year. President Donald Trump endorsed Nordone before her Senate appointment was made official.
Graham, 71, helped raise his younger sister after their parents died decades ago. Now, she is stepping up to succeed him.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
